Foundation: NLIRO is an insurance rating organization established in accordance with the Law Concerning Non-Life Insurance Rating Organizations.
History:
November 1, 1948: The Fire and Marine Insurance Rating Association of Japan [ the former name of the Property and Casualty Insurance Rating Organization ( PCIRO ) ] was established as an independent insurance rating organization.
January 8, 1964: The Automobile Insurance Rating Organization of Japan ( AIRO ) split off from the Association to become an independent organization.
July 1, 2002: The merger of AIRO and PCIRO resulted in the formation of NLIRO.
